About Us
The Postabortion Care Consortium was established in 1993 by Ipas, AVSC (now EngenderHealth), JHPIEGO, Pathfinder and IPPF to encourage USAID, UNFPA and other international donors and agencies in the reproductive health and population field to address the issue of unsafe abortion in their policies and programs. Additional organizations joined in subsequent years and currently the PAC Consortium has members representing approximately 30 organizations worldwide.
Governance and Membership
The Consortium is governed by a Steering Committee, which currently includes representatives of EngenderHealth, Family Care International, IntraHealth, Ipas, JHPIEGO, Pathfinder International and Population Council.
It is managed by a Coordinator based at a Host Organization, currently Family Care International. The current Coordinator is Elizabeth Westley (ewestley@fcimail.org).
Members currently include approximately 30 organizations and several hundred individuals representing all regions. Membership in the Consortium is open to all individuals and organizations working on postabortion care issues. Signing up as a member enables you to receive and contribute information and resources on PAC as part of the PAC Consortium community, and participate in all aspects of the annual meetings and task forces. If you are interested in becoming member of the PAC Consortium or simply joining our mailing list, please send an email to info@pac-consortium.org.
